I'm giving two presentations at the 21st Century Learning Symposium
hosted by St. Claire County RESA on August 23, 2012. Both of my talks center on the creation of interactive textbooks or learning resources using Apple's iBooks Author.
iBooks Author allows you to create really cool interactive textbooks for use on an iPad. Combine this with Pages for the production of epubs and you can create compelling resources to use with your students on a variety of platforms. In this session I will walk you through the creation of ebooks that can be used for in classroom instruction or to support a Flipped classroom. We’ll also toss in a little TPACK and rethink what a textbook can be.
Already figured out how to add videos, pictures, and quizzes to your iBooks? Are you ready to kick it up a notch? We’ll pick up where all the tutorial videos on the net leave off. The bundled widgets are great, but they only take you so far. In this session we’ll focus on some free and cheap tools that can be used to create your own custom widgets for use in iBooks.
